It has been on my mind for a while to paint a few floral paintings. It’s an opportunity to try creating a composition that has a different and more intimate scale than a landscape. I do need to learn more about what kinds of flowers they are so I don’t have to refer to this one as ‘blue flowers near Crawford Bay, BC.’

  1. Mike, this is astounding. I love your landscapes and don’t usually warm to flowers on the page, but there’s something incredible about the aspect and color here and it’s done me in 🙂

      Thanks for the encouragement. I was having a battle royale with a painting last night and in the end the painting won. I went to bed quite discouraged. It’s good to hear the other stuff is still having an effect.
