Saturday morning a bunch of us went hoofed it down to the first Farmer’s Market of the season to busk. We had a rotation of 8 or 9 people so it was a great little song circle that let everyone had a chance. At the end of the market we had collected $120 which we took to the grocery, bought a bunch of steaks, prawns, chickens, salads and had a great barbeque and jam at the Jones’  gazebo (Steve Jones on upright bass). Good times where had by all, that’s me rockin’ out the mandolin in the pic above. Photos courtesy of Sally Passey.

  1. I’m jealous, but I told myself you’re all a bunch of rednecks, and there’s no way Cranbrook’s that cool, which is hard, because I used to live there and I know that the ‘brook is in fact that cool. So now I’m going to bed in a foul mood because you’re all cooler than me. I had been congratulating myself about how good I am at surfing the net, but I now I see that this activity scores very low on the cool index compared to sing-songin’ it up at a farmer’s market. So now I’m feeling badly about myself. This is your fault. See what happens you pick up your guitar and do cool shit? You put other people in bad moods because they actually live in a big dirty city where most of the buskers are on meth and they’re buying it from the Jones down the road, and the Jones down the road, you see, aren’t like your Jones with Gazebos and BBQs. they’re drug dealers who killed this guy one time for trying to make merry on their street corner playing guitar, so don’t make eye contact.

  2. I love how there’s someone in front of me in every picture.
